A day out and picnic on the Burgundy Canal

The English conversation group of Viserny.   21 participants off the for day on the Burgundy Canal.  We set off to Perrigny from Montbard.

 At 8:30 in the morning

 And off we go already 30° in the shade

And then boat n° 1 stopped in the middle and almost had a collision

What's this?  A parasol in the water?    ooohh la la...

Perrigny was a little too far so we stopped in Aisy sur Armançon and ignored these warnings. 

Everybody was very hungry and there were lots of good things to eat.    

Chicken,  terrines, paté, quiches, melon, clafoutis, abricots to name but a few delicious things to eat

Our dear friend Oliva came to picnic with us - and thanks to her and Malo we found this lovely spot near to the river

Then our boat stopped  !    Due to fishing wire and seaweed caught up in the propellers.    So someone had to dive in.      38° now in the shade our lockkeeper jumped happily  into the murky canal waters .....

And then we had to pull the boat until Mr Lopez arrived with his car to tow it back to the other boats who were waiting for us.     We were towed back to Montbard and all is well

Everyone is back safely an hour later than expected.    What a wonderful day, it was just like being on holiday.
I hope everyone enjoyed themselves and look forward to next year for another outing.
